This happens like once every three months.

I think I can honestly say that this last half-year (semester) has been one of the best of my life. God has shown Himself to me in ways I've never experienced, I've grown even closer to the people I consider my closest friends, and I've had the incredible pleasure of gaining new friends. I was talking with someone a few weeks back about how incredible the people at JBU are. The ratio of uber-cool people to jerks is really pretty rediculous (in the favor of uber-cool people, obviously).

The last few weeks have been especially incredible. Some of the things that have happened have been:

1. Swing Dancing (tons of fun, I hope I'm getting better at it)
2. The Second annual movie-premier thingy (everything was hilarious...I was a little partial to "The Duplex" though, probably because it was so much fun to make)
3. A JBU-legal game of poker (our chips had no real monitary value. I should've won though...lost after going all in on an Ace/Jack suited hand pre-flop)
4. Christmasy stuff (the parade, candlelight, everthing...)

Final Thought: When coming home, Dan and I hit Denver at the exact right time. It was so amazing to go from driving through farmland nothingness for hours and all of a sudden hit the lights of denver with the sun setting behind snowy mountains in the background.

Hi

My hair is going to get chopped off...for reals...hmm...

Wednesday, September 27, 2006

My hair...it's going to get chopped off...

As Promised...

I was tired when I wrote this, so i didn't feel like finding some witty way to put this post together. Here's the content I wanted in it, simple and to the point.

Funny story of the day:

Yesterday me and my roommate were just chillin' in our dupe when we heard a knock. I'm the lazy one of the two of us, so Dan jumped up and answered the door. I didn't think anything of it, but when I hear them begin to talk I hear a female voice say "are the guys on the other side of the dupe properly dressed?" Apparently my roommate in his zeal answered the door with no pants on and didn't realize it.

Lesson(s) of the day:

1. Most of the time if you're having a bad mood/day, you're blowing things way out of proportion. Don't get worked up about things that don't matter, God is all knowing and all powerful and He wants what's best for you.

2. The people here at JBU are amazing, and I'm going to start telling them that more often. They deserve to know how cool they are. I absolutely love each and every one of my friends.

Question of the day:

Get ready...this is deep! So today, I was walking to class and I began thinking (crazy, I know), do tall people feel taller or does the world feel smaller? In other words, if you started growing really quickly, would the world seem to shrink or would you be like, whoa, check out how big I am!

Alright, Alright.

Due to the large number of requests from my reading public, I will indeed update and make a post within the next 24 hours. Stay Tuned (I do have to admit though...it's been so long since I've done this that it took me about 15 minutes to figure out how to even make this post).

oh, Boulder

I figure it's about time I actually update this deal and hope that maybe one person will actually look at it (if I wasn't me, I wouldn't...I mean...I haven't updated for like a month). Anyways, I've been workin', workin' out (just got a membership at Bally), and hangin' out. A lot of my friends are up in Boulder since they're going to CU, so I've been there a decent amount of time, and let me tell you, the people there are crazy. Already I've had a wrinkled up forty-year old lady tell me I had a nice butt (with not so quite nice of working) and ticked off a crazy hippie girl by looking the other way when she tried to flash me (ask me the details of this story, if you want...it's really pretty funny). Other than things like that, the city is great though. There's a lot of really nice places to eat and a few times my good friend, Ross, and I have gone tubing down Boulder Creek. Now, that doesn't sound all that exciting, but just to give you a picture of how crazy it is, the area we go tubing in has rapids...people actually kayak down this thing.

As for the previous post, the answer to the riddle is that Arkansas and Colorado are streets in downtown Denver. I had the opportunity of going to Florida and Idaho as well that day and have several times since.

Monday, May 22, 2006

Little riddle for ya'll today...
